Your social media posts are the foundation of your marketing campaign for your business. If you are looking to maximize the effectiveness of your social media posts, read on! Here are some ideas for creating the ideal social post:

Your blog should have an engaging title that lures the reader in right away and should be about 500-800 words in length. The first sentence should contain any keywords to draw them in, while conveying the purpose of the article. You want to use links that direct viewers to past blog posts or contact pages and use a call to action that poses a question so you can engage with them. Using a relevant image is key for an effective post on social platforms. This encourages engagement and makes your blog more shareable.

When creating a video on YouTube, you want to create a catchy title so people will click and watch. You also want your video to be searchable so giving it that catchy titles ensure that people find it. Also, be sure your file name reflects your clever title. Make sure your video is informative and not too long. You can add tags using keywords which will help your video become easier to search. In your description of your YouTube video, you should use any keywords that can help viewers find it quickly and easily. Use the description to add links to your business website and social platforms. This lets viewers know what they should do next and is a good Call To Action tip.

Keeping things positive and engaging is the key to an effective social post. On Facebook, you want to provide a post that offers something but doesn’t tell everything. This way fans have to click to see more. Using an image is the best way to ensure engagement on Facebook. The ideal size is 800×600. Posts with an image get the highest engagements. You should also include a link or links so you can track how many people are clicking through and keep your images simple so they can be easily viewable on mobile devices. 80-85% of people will see your Facebook posts on their smart phones. Posting on Facebook after your business is closed is just as important as when your audience is listening during the day.

Create a tweet that has a clear Call To Action, has an image and tells the reader exactly what you want them to do. Ask them a question or describe a fact to engage your viewers. Avoid abbreviations and all caps and use spell check! By shortening your URLs and using links, you can generate more re-tweets. Using mentions on Twitter is a great way to prompt influencers to engage with you and respond.  When re-tweeting relevant content, make sure you leave about 20 characters for people to add content.

Research has shown that a social post on Pinterest without a human face gets shared 23% more often than those with them. Your background should use no more than 40% of your image to avoid decreased repins. Dominant colors like red, green and pink get 3 times the amount of likes and repins on Pinterest. Images with 50% saturation get repined 4 times more often than those with 100% and 10 times more than black and white images. Try and make your images vertical. They perform better than horizontal ones. Use a 2:3 and 4:5 ratio.

OPTIMUM TIME FOR SOCIAL POSTS: 2pm – 4pm and 8pm – 1am

When creating a Google+ post, you want to tag brands and people (example: @organik SEO) that apply so they get a notification. This promotes engagement with that post. Writing a post on a trending topic tells your readers you are up-to-date with current events and happenings. This also increases your brand visibility. Hashtags increase your page’s reach. Keep in mind that Google+ will automatically add a hashtag for key and trending topics. When you do get a comment on your Google+ post make sure you extend the conversation as much as you can because it does not have the most active users and brands like some of the other social media platforms. Search for communities that are relevant to your industry and engage/contribute as much as you can. Use full size images (800x600px) to stand out.

Placement and hashtags are the key to an effective Instagram social post. Put the subject of the photo in only 2/3 of the screen makes it visually more appealing. You can use the various editing apps available to enhance your Instagram photos. Make sure your photos have a consistent look and feel. A relevant caption will grab the user’s attention and drive people to comment. If you are looking for tons of engagement for your Instagram social post, use random hashtags that are trending that week. You can send notes to those who have commented or liked your social post, but make sure you are not trying to sell them something.

Using popular hashtags such as loop and how-to can make your Vine videos more effective since new users usually start at the hashtags. Take your time when creating a Vine video. Even though it is a short 6 seconds, you want it to be well done, to the point and creative. Using a tripod keeps your videos steady and looking more professional. Once you find you style on Vine, your social posts will stand out and gain a following. The art of the infinite loop is important on Vine. Your video should loop forever effortlessly. Your final scene should flow back into your original scene.

Obviously, something that works for one business might not be effective for the next. It is crucial to experiment with your social posts and find which ones work best for your audience.
