We are happy to give the “Companies That Care” spotlight this week to Earthroots, a non-profit education organization in Orange County that thrives on getting kids outdoors, smiling and covered in mud!
Earthroots offers classes, workshops and lectures throughout the year for all ages! From toddlers to teens, to adults and private schools, Earthroots’ classrooms take place at local organic farms, in green kitchens, at beaches, creeks and even wilderness parks. The programs through Earthroots offer the opportunity to explore our natural world and connection with all things on Earth.
This local organization also holds seasonal projects including survival skills, growing a garden, harvesting acorns, weaving with natural fibers, identifying marine life in tidepools and understanding bird language. The groups of classes are kept small and parents can accompany the little kids if they choose.
Earthroots is dedicated to inspiring life-long dedication to environmental stewardship and community. This is achieved through a deep connection to nature and through mentoring. Participants at Earthroots gain a better understanding of how all life is connected. Using this understanding, Earthroots hopes that individuals can make choices in their daily lives that improve the health of the earth, themselves and each other.
