Facebook pages oftentimes have multiple administrators and there is currently no way to tell which admin wrote which post. Facebook posted a message at the top of Pages last week notifying managers/admins of an upcoming change:
“Starting on February 20, the names of admins will show next to their posts and comments. This will be visible to anyone with an admin role on your Page.”
This new change to Facebook Pages will make it clear to admins which other admins posted specific content on the page’s behalf and will launch on February 20, 2014. No more “Who posted that?” questions! If you have staff assigned to post to your Facebook page, you can now monitor their progress. Since this new Facebook feature isn’t visible to the public, you can maintain your cohesive social media voice.
NOTE: This new Facebook feature will NOT be retroactive on old posts, only posts starting on Feb. 20.
Here’s how you will be able to see who posted what on a Facebook Page:
On a Page post in Facebook, the name of the person who posted will be listed under the name of your Page, next to “Posted by”. The name of the person who makes comments on a Page can be seen below the comment, next to “Commented on by”. Remember that only people who help manage your Page can see this information. You can also view their posts and scheduled posts in your Page’s activity log.
Are you the manager or admin of a business Facebook page? If so, what do you think about this new feature? Will it be beneficial and if so, why? We’d love to hear from you. Let us know your thoughts below!
