We are happy to give the “Companies That Care” spotlight this week to Rais Case, a sustainable and locally sourced company that offers super-stylish handbags, pillows, and accessories with bright patterns made from repurposed materials.
Rais Case is a brand that is inspired to think differently and live creatively. Owned by husband-wife duo Grant and Julie Ellis, Rais Case uses materials such as salvaged leathers, bold textiles, and solid brass hardware. Rais Case designs practical accessories and home goods with unique style and great craftsmanship. Inspired by clean lines and beautiful textiles, Rais Case has created a rich canvas.
This local San Diego company started in August of 2010 in Julie’s living room. Julie has her undergrad and master’s degrees in Art Education. She is one part high school art teacher and one part savvy business woman. She had a simple desire to make a few stylish laptop cases to meet the needs of her and her friends…and from there Rais Case was born. What began as an effort to create something effortless and chic has become a study of quality, engineering, fashion and art. It has evolved into the vibrant brand you see today. Julie started using genuine Pendleton® wool in 2013 and shortly after that introduced home accessories into the line.
Made in America
Rais Case is proud to cut and sew their products all in the USA. They take pride in sourcing American-made hardware, printed goods and textiles. Rais Case offers handbags, pillows and accessories with bright patterns made from repurposed materials like burlap coffee sacks from local San Diego cafes and Pendleton blankets. Julie says, “American Made isn’t a trend, it’s a lifestyle choice.” We love her style!
Rais Case loves to connect with people and wants to help build a strong and creative community. Giving back is an integral part of the business. Through their DIY EVENTS they support various organization and causes in the community.
Rais Case is located in the Flower Hill Promenade in Del Mar, CA. They partnered with Mr. B’s Luminaries (a luxe soy-wax candles line) and their shop is open 7 days a week. It is the coolest place, with a working studio, retail space and a space for friends to connect and hang out!
